BresoDx has been approved in Europe as an aid in the diagnosis of sleep apnoea. The innovative device uses proprietary acoustic and movement recording technology to detect apnoea events. It is a cordless, battery operated device that provides results with a 94-96% correlation to the current gold standard of PSG. It has the versatility to be used for independent patient use in the comfort of their own home, or with minimal assistance in a hospital ward or sleep clinic. BresoDx has been tested and validated for its accuracy in several clinical trials led by Drs. Hisham Alshaer and Douglas Bradley of the University Health Network. It is a reliable and cost effective solution that can enhance the field of sleep apnoea diagnosis for physicians, patients and health care providers.

DreamStation Pro and DreamStation Pro Auto CPAP Machine

18/4/2016

We are very pleased to announce that we now stock the DreamStation Pro and DreamStation Pro Auto CPAP Machines.

The DreamStation Pro from Philips Respironics is one of the latest advanced CPAP machines.

With an in-built heated humidifier and tubing, all in a modernised design, it is made for ease of use in mind. With advanced in-built features, the machine offers users the ability to monitor therapy effectiveness and adapts on its own to ensure the best possible treatment is given to each individual user.

The CPAP machine includes SmartRamp technology, C-Flex+ as well as many additional features including Bluetooth connectivity, a mask fit- check tool, regular reminders when a filter change is needed, a user-friendly design with a colourful display, and an optional heated humidifier. Healthcare professionals can also use the convenient auto-trial mode when issuing a DreamStation Pro to a first-time CPAP patient. In this mode the device functions as an automatic machine for 30 days before switching to fixed pressure based on the data collected during the trial period. This allows the more cost-effective Pro model to be issued without requiring the patient to try a separate automatic device first.

The DreamStation Auto CPAP Machine is similar, although like the name suggests, it automatically adjusts the pressure for the user. Although, this can be changed if specific pressure settings are required.

The DreamStation range of CPAP machines are notably smaller and lighter than the System One predecessors, weighing around 15% less than their equivalents. This makes it arguably the best combination of size, features and performance available.

You can view our DreamStation range at:

Intus join forces with Fisher & Paykel Healthcare

2/5/2014

Picture
Intus Healthcare and Fisher & Paykel Healthcare have announced that they will be actively working together to reduce the number of undiagnosed OSA sufferers and additionally join forces to strengthen their individual NHS tender submissions.

In the UK, an estimated two million people have undiagnosed OSA and a recent research report published by the Sleep Apnoea Trust Association (SATA) found that while (approx.) 100,000 sleep studies are conducted via the NHS each year, the system is always under great pressure, resulting in a considerable number of untreated patients. Among other activities, a joint Intus/F&P advertising campaign, which launched in The Times newspaper in April, will seek to raise OSA symptom awareness to a targeted public and encourage enquirers to undertake an in-home sleepy study (www.Sleep-Study.co.uk/FPH) to investigate further. F&P provide an excellent range of OSA therapy equipment and Intus have been running an efficient in-home sleep study service for many years, with studies analysed by clinically trained professionals turning around results in just seven days.

With the increasing requirement for the NHS to outsource services to help relieve backlogs and cut costs, many NHS tenders stipulate the need for suppliers to provide a 'complete' patient care pathway - from diagnosis to therapy provision with follow-ups and aftercare. Intus have the infrastructure and experience to provide these services, having directly served tens of thousands of patients. Now, by combining F&P and Intus' strength's both company's tender proposals will be of greater interest and ultimately help more people to get the sleep they deserve.
